LOL!

How many times people have said that about our year group, I couldn't count.

But oh yeah, there are plenty of dickheads in our year.

And he doesn't fancy his chances of being in the top 2 ranks in english and maths

Sorry, my mistake. I meant classes, not ranks.

I was 3rd in 2 unit maths (95), 16th or 17th in 3 unit maths (45) (can't remember), 28th adv english (83) and got 95.25 :D

But advanced english is a MUST at our school. I absolutely hated it, but without it I would have dropped heaps of uai points, and would have hated standard just the same...not to mention the teachers(I use the term losely)/ and some students that find themselves in stnd english at our school...

Goodluck with everything, study consitently and you'll do fine. One word of advice - do Studies of Religion and work hard at the assessments. No bullshit, I did NO study for SOR and got 48/50 exam mark...but my rank(~ 36/~70) pulled me down to 44. As soon as you get your ISP (interest study project) for SOR start it straight away. Chosea topic that you can get newspaper articles for keep a log book and you'll find yourself ranked top 10 .

Oh, and DO NOT buy study guides for Prelim. Total waste of money.

Holy cow, I've written an essay here. Anyway, yeah, goodluck, don't take school too seriously, have fun with your mates while you can and study in yr 12 so you can go to Australia's best uni...USYD. ;)

lol i guess...it just was a bit surprising after being at schools that had a pretty even spread of nationalities. the ppl there arent racist for the most part, just ignorant, and tend to stereotype...probably cause they've never known anyone who wasnt white.

That is so true. Advanced English at our school has a much better environment for learning than Standard.

And also, listen to his advice about Religion, it's SO easy to get a high mark, don't blow it with a crummy ass ranking.

5 Things I Like
- Excellent friends, as well as an unusually fun, clever and sexy grade
- Very strong academically as well as in other pursuits
- Some great teachers
- Very strong in the humanties, loving and supportive of my decision to altogether forfeit all Sciences and Maths
- Excellent location: food, parks, harbour in close proximity
Bonus: Actual very impressive student achievements on display in Office, none of that 'Local Under 16 Men's Lawn Bowl Champion' crap

5 Things I Dislike
- I live so god-damned far away! (Admittedly this is more my own problem)
- The ubiquitous Asian skank brigade of any school with a sizable Asian population
- A public school budget: ever-dwindling supply of textbooks, some so old written in Latin (not even Latin textbooks. We had to auction those for doors for the toilets)
- Never quite making first: missing out by single marks
- Disturbing trend of ruder, meaner, taller Year 7's each year

Altogether, I love it.
School: Guess!

I go to St Aloysius College, which is basically near Luna Park. That should give you an idea of the stunning views.

Likes:
1) Everyone is nice
2) High academic ranking
3) The atmosphere motivates you to at least try and study
4) Seniors have their own canteen line, can leave early, come late, go out to lunch (Does this apply to most schools?), own toilets, own computers, own studying and sleeping area (that i advise you to stay away from, it looks infested), free hot water and microwave use
5) Teachers know what they are doing... except I have my doubts about some

Dislikes
1) (See no.1) Except Year 11s and 7s with mouths too big for their heads
2) Located near a racist private school that gives us shit on the train
3) Have changed our perfectly normal winter uniform for something that looks like a pillow case and feels like velcro on bare skin
4) Science lab smell makes you want to vomit on a passing child
5) Art room sink smell which makes you want to vomit and then die ontop of a passing child

Likes:
1. the teachers - theyre really great and like our friends
2. students most are pretty good and nice but some dodgy kids
3. building, just had a development and school is so much bigger now and new.
4. winter uniform probably one of the best uniforms around.
5. all the year 12 stuff we get - coffee room with nice leather couches, microwave, kettle and dishwasher, jerseys, radio, get to go down to the shops at the beach at lunch, our computer study room.

Dislikes:
1. NO AIR CON cos school was too environmentally friendly to put it in just 1 dodgy fan in each room. only the library and music rooms are nice and cold.
2. the political-ness of private schools and all the behind the scenes stuff that goes on.
3. summer uniform really heavy material that kills you.

Well school was a year ago for me but I'm all for reminiscing
The Good:
1- Good teachers and year co-ordinator.
2 - Good year group - everyone became better friends by year 12.
3 - Nice bush surroundings and beautiful builidngs (built start of last century).
4 - They got a new uniform when I was in year 9 and it was really nice and comfy.
5 - Have the best memories and made the best friends.

The Bad
1 - Located in the middle of nowhere and we weren't allowed to leave school and go home until after lunch.
2 - The 45 minute walk home in the sun up a HUGE hill (and all my friends walked in the other direction).
3 - Hopeless computers. So old the mice (mouses??) only had one click button on them.
4 - Totally renovated half the school after I left.
5 - Compared to the teachers the principal did not care at all. I rarely saw her.
