i was considering five units of history but decided to drop Ancient because the class was doing egypt........
my friend's going 5 units of history and she appears to be doing fine....

Yeah...i'm doing 5 Units of history along with maths, english and economics so my other subjects are suffering a bit. I find it's just lots and lots and LOTS of damned notes! NOTES NOTES NOTES!!! argh....its sad.

I'm doing 5 units of history and im finding it okay at the moment, but that might be because im down to 10 units :rolleyes:

I did mod + ext last year, and for those doing multiple history units, if you enjoy it you will most certainly pull through with flying colours. Essay writing skills are essential, but if you don't like the courses then don't bother. Im sure most of you like them. :)

doing 5 units of history in my 13 unit workload
mod and hist ext i'm loving and coping fine but ancient is getting to me. dont like how its taught at all. so much BS

yeah i'm a 5uer, it's so easily to get sick of it cause all my skills are directed to historical shit (only doing 9u this yr so it's more than half history)

Yeah I'm doing 5U of history along with 3U Engish, Mathematics and Art. So far so good, but I'm getting more work for Extension that Modern and Ancient combined.

yeah, i foud that too! my draft is due the friday coming! and i havent barely even starteed. ancient is easy compared to modern though! but i was dumb enuf to do society and culture and 5 units of history!


did you know next year hist extension is turning into a 2 unit topic! the project becomes extension 2, and the other stuff extension 1! no more worklload or anything and it becomes 2 whole units! so annoyed!

That is unfair, but is a better system, because having to do a project which can be so arbitarily marked (as it was in our case) by an internal marker was just unfair and jeopardised the UAI's of a lot of people. External marking is better because it much more objective.

It is a lot of work as a single unit so this is much better.

yeah it's def a better system it's just giving me the shits cuz i wanted to drop ext hist despite wanting to do the coursework just not the project

so of course they change it the year after i do it

Do you actually have any proof on this? Or is it just some hearsay going around?

my extension teacher told me, who is also a hsc marker!
i believe it, everything good always happens the year after me!
like next year in modern theyre halving the subjects!!!

yeah im doing 5 units of history along with ext 2 english, mathematics and 1 units SOR. Its fine except for ancient where we get waaaaaaaay to much material to memerise. Notes are annoying too!

I'm doing 5 units as well... have exams in less than 2 weeks! all i can say to fellow 5 unit people out there is DON'T STOP STUDYING! seriously I'm so screwed because I have only just started to study and have to memorise quotes as well! BIG MISTAKE! but on the other had I'm getting alot more work in Ancient History that Modern and Extention but that could be becasue my Ancient teacher is the head of history

ive got the same teacher for modern and ancient. im doing 5units also. ancient is my first exam. modern is my last. so its pretty well spaced.

Iam the only one in my school. hehe

Thats because iam doing Ancient by Dist ed... I find the work to boring.. But i do really well in exams and so on.. So i keep it.

Modern is good, And ext is intresting to say the least...

Have fun 5un people!

There wasn't enough people to get a ancient history class....

So i did it by correspndense...Don't do it... I hate the work... But i wont drop it because i can go well in exams
