You mean raw?dolbinau said:Do you think 50% would be 35/50?
What about 55%?
60%?
LOL in your frekin dreams!!!lyounamu said:You mean raw?
If you get 50%, that should get you over 80.
Average aligned mark last year was 82 and I am pretty sure that average student in MX1 don't usually get 50% in exam as in raw mark.
No. It's true. Refer to the scaling reports. Over 25% of the candidature got Band E4 in Mathematics Extension 1 and median aligned mark was 41/50 = 82/100narrowpin said:LOL in your frekin dreams!!!
what does that have anything to do with getting 50%RAW in the exam. are you stupid or something??......50% of people getting above 82 doesnt mean 50% was the median. fak some ppl are dumblyounamu said:No. It's true. The next time you try to mock someone, get some right stats and come back.
You are quite right in that regards. However, I really reckon that the median raw mark would be about mid 40s and that's how I came to the conclusion. If you actually got raw 50% I reckon that should place you top 40% but as I already said, that's just my point of view.narrowpin said:what does that have anything to do with getting 50%RAW in the exam. are you stupid or something??......50% of people getting above 82 doesnt mean 50% was the median. fak some ppl are dumb
i dont think so...50% of people get a raw mark of >50% in 4u papers. this is a 3u unit paper, the average is not gonna be in the 50%'s.....i think its more like mid to high 50's sadlylyounamu said:You are quite right in that regards. buddy...just face up to reality, anything in the 50% range is definitely not a 80+. High 60%'s will get you a 80+ for this test.dolbinau said:Well, for this test especially it would be lower than usual IMO. But I don't think you can say the easier the course the better the results. The people who do 4u especially I think on average would be much more suited to that course than those who do 3u.
Of course I'd like to think 50% could get me places, although I can see how it seems unbelievable it could get to 80 - in this test maybe not.
I predict I got 57% hopefully it's at least an E3 (whatever that cut off is)
Well, I am not sure then. I will try to some books that have stats in regards to that information such as 50 Tips for Mathematics Extension 1.narrowpin said:i dont think so...50% of people get a raw mark of >50% in 4u papers. this is a 3u unit paper, the average is not gonna be in the 50%'s.....i think its more like mid to high 50's sadly
i heard the 2007 raw average was 38/84 in the exam solyounamu said:No. It's true. Refer to the scaling reports. Over 25% of the candidature got Band E4 in Mathematics Extension 1 and median aligned mark was 41/50 = 82/100

iluvGG said:yeah my teachers have always said that 50% will scale you to about 35-40 out of 50. and since this test was hard, i can believe it.
I'm no expert, but yeah i think 75% raw mark in that exam should secure you with a good mark.eskimoh said:so ur saying i sitll may do ok if i get 75% o_o
