*SECURITY CLASSIFICATION
*PROTECTIVE CUSTODY
*PAROLE:
*REMISSIONS AND LICENSES: these were before the Sentencing Act
A prisoner could earn a remission, or a reduction in their initial sentence for good behaviour.
Also a prisoner sentenced to life could be released on a licence after pleading their case to the Parole board.
With the introduction of the Sentencing Act, these concepts or remission

okay so security classification is the level of security in which a prisoner is admitted into. This may include minimum security, maximum security etc. However, before a prsioner is classified into a category they must go to a max security prison to determine where they will spend their sentence.

protective custody where the prisoner is isolated away from the general population because of fears for their safety. For example many child molesters are placed in isolation because of fears that they will be hurt if released into the general area of the prison.

Parole is the conditional release of a prisoner after at least 2/3rds of their sentence is complete and as u said, they pleasd their case before the parole board. If they are released they will be regularly monitered by a parole officer.

Q: What bodies are aimed at reforming the law? (this is a pretty important as it has ever been asked in the HSC and there is a likelihood that it will be asked this year)

Q: What are some concerns regarding the use of informers?
Q: What is a citizens arrest?
Q: Why are certain groups unfairly targeted by police and appear to be discriminated against?
Q: Outline some arguments for and against the use of a jury
Q: Name 2 reasons why a witness may not report crime.

That should keep u busy for a while. Good revision :)
