I know shame on me being Advanced English and all but I have the most simple question. Do you quote thoughts of the protagonist? like when they think .. geese why is he so happy that I am bleeding to death? Something like that, do we add " " into thought bubbles like this. I wanna make sure so I don't get penalised in the test. Thanks a million ppl

You could write in third person, and we'll call the protagonist Bob, "Bob wondered why he was so happy that he was bleeding to death", but if you are aiming to write it in first person I would apostrophise it just like any other peice of dialogue, but say he thought instead of he said.

I personally always prefer to write in the third person, but that's just me.

For example, 'The hills were filled with trees'..

And when you're quoting dialogue, do you use " ?

For example, "It's not our way, It's my way".. ?

Hmmm but I do see some texts use both ' and " for quotes as well

Maybe just use " all the time, because they are quote marks, and you will be 'quoting' from texts...

yea thats what i do, it saves alot of confusion.
