if the probability to get a rotten apple is 1/19 and a man goes and buys 11 apples, what is the probability, that 3 of the fruits will be damaged?

pick 3 from 11 apples, (11C3)

chance of picking a rotten apple would be (1/19)^3 ("that 3 of the fruits will be damaged")
and chance of picking good apple is (18/19)^8
( 8 that wont be damaged.)
