Hi...this is my first post here

But i have a question...All the teacher are always saying ranks are the most important and you know its important to come first. I understand how the ATAR works but I was wondering...what rank do you need to be in order to get an ATAR atleast above 85..Im doing Chemistry, Mathematics, Adv English, Biology, Legal and French Continuers...Im in the top 5 in each of them except for maths which is top 10. There approx 25-30 students in each course except in French which is like 9.

So as long as im in top 5 with even 60s or 70%, will i get an atar above 80 or atleast above 85. Or do I need to come 1st or 2nd in each course and get 90%....Btw Im getting 80s and 90s in all the subs except chem and maths.

I have no idea...but i doubt its even in top 200 because its fairly new. The first HSC for the school was last year

fair enough, then you might have to come first in one or two subs
try for the ones which scale high, def eng adv
and rape the external exams and youll prob end up with 85 MINIMUM atar, 90+ is also a possibility
