youre 60- 70 and the lady said you wouldnt get in? where were your preferences? i wouldnt stress too much just yet... from other peoples experiences the list moves pretty fast.. especially after the first week or so cause a fair few returners just dont return, or move downtown... if you just want to be on campus and dont really care too much bout the exact location, tell them that you will take anything thats made available to you.. then once youre in, you can move around later if something becomes available.

otherwise, living downtown isnt that bad... in O week you will meet heaps of other 1st years who are homeless... i promise you wont be spending first term on a park bench!!

Now that I'm definatly in MTG... can someone please give me an idea of what the place is like? I've never seen them (Though, I do know they're just round the corner from Panthers and the pub that does $2 schooners ;) What are the rooms like? The people? The social life? Do I need a bar fridge now :p ;)

Cheers!

Congratulations everyone who got in!
Any talene bex's is right - i dont think you should be worrying too much
Theres nothing wrong with mtg! Its really social and awesome people - just make sure you step outside the mtg circle and socialise with other residences people!
You dont need a bar fridge - you have one in mtg too - are you single or double rooms?

Yeah I only had 2 preferences because the other places looked terrible.
I only really wanted the self catered cottage, but I threw in diggings *just in case* ... looks like I didn't get either!
I'm looking for places to rent right now, and I'm going to Bathurst on the weekend to check it all out.

Hey, I got another question. The info CSU gives us says that we need to go to the a certain place on campus to find out our rooms and such, but what about MTG? Do I still need to go to Uni first, and then back to Brilliant St?

Cheers!

yep you need to go and sign in at the tent thing and then they will give you your dorm etc etc so go there before you go to MTG. bring whatever you like!!! ESPECIALLY pillows.. eww... more later'

i found a place!
i went into bathurst yesterday and there was NOTHING left to rent. there was a shithole room on george st - total dump.
but i found a nice flat that i'll be sharing with another girl - it's off stewert st, and it's really nice :)
i'm kinda nervous about o-week, i don't know what to expect and i lost my little booklet they sent in the mail! i don't know what to take with me!!
and for some reason my computer won't let me view pdf files so i can't see the bathurst o-week program :(

white rabbit - i downloaded acrobat and i can finally view pdf, i don't know why i didn't have it to begin with. but i will need to set up a connection in my room at bathurst - which i am clueless about. i hate computers.

bex- yeah i have a car, but i don't have my Ps yet :( i'm going for them tomorrow and i'm scareddddd. i always forget to check my mirror when braking, or my blindspots when turning. i hope i don't screw it up :( and yeah, the flat is furnished, all except for my own bed which is fair enough. but the other girl who i'm moving in with (her mum has leased the property) is buying alot of new furnature for the place, so that's good :D
