There seems to be a bit of controversy about this one. Is it far harder/different than acct1501? Would you say it was a WAM killer or booster? People seem to think the final is a nightmare and that your internal should be 100%.

Insights into ECON1102 would also be appreciated because again there seems to be conflicting reports.

Cheers.

econ1102 = wam killer
acct1511 = wam booster

you'll get conflicting reports because all experience is anecdotal. i crammed acct1511 in the 4 free days before my final and got a HD. actually learnt econ1102 throughout the semester and got a credit.

also if you have a look at the course outline, acct1511 basically gives you 42% free marks before the finals. i.e. participation and presentation marks + online quizzes that are easily google-able. whereas econ1102 has an assignment and midsem plus marked hw each week.

I found 1511 bloody hard and it made no sense to me... especially cash flow statements. In hindsight, I struggled with core accounting at uni (i.e. journals, and financial reporting) until I got to the majors where it was more focused on the more interesting aspects (i.e. management accounting). And look where I am now :)

Dunno I found acct1511 really straight forward. I did acct2542 this sem and it fucking does not make sense at all. At least 3x as hard as 1511.

Haha I rote learned every possible journal entry in 2542 the week heading into the finals.. still managed to scrape a HD despite having no clue on what consolidation was all about. All of accounting confuses me but fortunately they're repetitious :)

MARK1012 is probably the biggest WAM killer out of those four. Previously I would've said INFS1602 but I have discovered otherwise after doing it this semester.

Did you do 2542 this sem as well? How did you find the final exam?

Yep I did and I thought the finals were rather straightforward (q1-3 were near identical to past papers) outside of me guessing like half the MCQ.

That's good! I haven't done it yet cos I was sick on the day. Any tips or things I should look out for?
