Hey guys, I just got an offer for B Actuarial Studies at UNSW.
I was wondering which courses I should undertake for Semester 1? Also, what is the standard program progression for this course.
Thanks!

Either one of the two options above are fine.

Do FINS1613 if you want to make your life a little easier in ACTL1101 in sem 2.

Do MGMT1001 if you want to use your English skills before they deteriorate (like mine have).

Just wondering if you're enrolled in B Actuarial Studies/Science, can you still do the following subs: MATH1151, ACCT1501, ECON1101 and FINS1613 (note there is no additional science sub barring MATH1151)?

They are all a part of the BActSt/BSc program so they won't be considered gen eds right?

I just read this pdf: https://www.business.unsw.edu.au/Students-Site/Documents/Commencing-Actuarial-Enrolment-Guide.pdf

and wanted to confirm whether it is allowed or not.
I want to do B actl / b comm. but accidently enrolled in b actl / b science. and I could still pick MATH1151, ACCT1501, ECON1101 and MGMT1001 (and enrol in them and pick my timeslots). So it should be fine. I need Admissions Team to fix it today tho haha.

My advice is do FINS1613 later, once you done 1-2 ACTL courses it becomes extremely easy and its literally free marks. Doing it straight in sem 1 you'll probably find it more difficult and won't really help in your first actuarial course either.

I did it after 2 actuarial courses, easiest 95 of my life learnt the course 2 days before exam

Can we enrol in elective courses in yr1 sem1?
I'm doing ActSt/Comm. ACCT1501, ECON1101 and MATH1151 were easy to enrol in, I wanted to do finance as the fourth one but the class times were too bad when I enrolled, and many people told me to stay away from mgmt in the first year. I ended up enrolling in the commerce elective, business and the law, is this alright?
Can I still change if I have to change?

Thanks in advance!

I think the system will let you, but according to this https://www.business.unsw.edu.au/Students-Site/Documents/Commencing-Actuarial-Enrolment-Guide.pdf from UNSW, they strongly recommend enrolling in FINS1613 or MGMT1001 for your last subject for this sem.
