Hey guys,

I have an assessment coming up for Module B - Gwen Harwood, and the task is to

"Develop an oral presentation that explores their personal response to the prescribed text for this module. In their response students must refer closely to the text and focus on two poems (Harwood) in detail.

Now the problem is, teh question is so broad and I have no idea where to begin it. Any ideas to help me get started?

Thanks

Well how long a speech is it to be? 3mins?
I have an Adv speech too, 3 mins max- teacher said 3 points/links should be more than enough to talk about, otherwise there wont be enough depth

Oh, speech is suppose to be 4-5 mins. Regarding this weird pattern of study, there is a reason to it, but its a long story... Gah...

>< ahhh!! Harwood was my worst and my my entire class's most hated module. But I did "The Violets" in my HSC. (I don't mind GH's poetry, it just annoyed me at times.)

Let's establish some of the basics:
What type of reading do you want to take?
From there you have to make critcal readings and talk about textual integrity. I'm not sure, but I think you would have to quote people like Particia Makeham or Elizabeth Lawson etc in your speech to talk about different personal responses to Harwood's poetry, while incorporating your own response.

Sorry if this is of no help.

Thanks Beanie! Her poem's are Ok, but it makes me sad when I need to learn the quotes from 6 or 7 uber long poems...
