can someone explain object oriented language and functional language to me ?
esp object oriented language.

both text books loses me half way

Have you got the Excel study guide? I found it really useful for definition sort of stuff like that. It explains it well, and I tend to use it more than my textbook (which is Heinneman, a piece of shit).

I think what you need to know is how to apply the paradigms to situations. You know, what paradigm should be used to solve Mr Joe Blogg's problem, he needs blah blah blah blah done. Which one and why?
