I have read in a few places that Mathematics aligns upwards fairly well. Eg. A raw mark of 62 - 70 out of 120 can align to 80+ out of 100. Is this true?

Also, is it possible for other subjects like Physics?

All subjects align 'upwards'. The aligned exam and moderated assessment marks that are reported on your HSC document are always higher than the raw,unaligned marks.

Science subjects (Chem, Phys, Bio) generally align around the same. (80/100 for band 6 - although Bio tends to be a couple of marks higher).

Sweet. So a band 5 in one of those subjects would be roughly 68+ as a raw?

Anyone know what raw mark is needed for High Band 4/Low Band 5 in Chemistry?

I don't see what the point is of aligning, and getting good aligned marks since they mean nothing.. The UAC do completely different things to the raw marks dont they? They like get lower or something? Or else i'm confused lol
