Ammendment Acts (1 Viewer)

When we do our legislation in our extended responses, do we refer to the ammended acts if they are the newest form?

for example in shelter - instead of "Residential Tenancies Act 1998 (NSW)" do i quote "Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2004 (NSW) No. 26"

there are others, but you get the idea

Depends, if you are talking about the facet that has been added to the act then yes, but if you are talking about the original components then no.

lol wat if im not sure... like wat if im just saying - "the details regarding XYZ are covered in <insert legislation here>" - then wat do i say?

i understand what ur saying though - i have another point where the particular remedy is because of the ammendment act

Well your safest bet is the amendment act then because it covers everything.

or u can simply say something like..''the amended crimes act...'' which is much easier because u dont have to remember the whole freaking name
