They are asking for a projected ATAR if they were to get band 5 in their respective subjects.

He sits the HSC this year.

But, all BAND 5's could mean low 90's if you choose the more difficult subjects, like the sciences, economics and higher-level maths.

Or it could mean mid-low 80's with the poorer scaling subjects because even after moderation/alignment, an 85 (final average between internal and external mark) in say society and culture is not the same as an 85 in say Physics or Chemistry.
