Calculate the speed that would cause a length contraction of 15%?

roughly 0.52c-0.53c

just substitute a random number. I used proper length as 100m, therefore the observed length would be 85m. The rest is algebra.

Rather than just using random numbers, you could solve by saying that lv = 0.85lo, then again solve algebraically (essentially the same approach ass mentioned above, but just more complete)
