Does anyone have a structure the follow when answering questions in biology like SEXY(state, explian, example, why) or PEEL(point, evidence, example and link)??
There isn't really a common structure to follow. The only advice I have though is to learn all the key verbs. It is essential that you address everything that the verb asks. For example if it is an explain question you must state the cause, the effect and make a concluding statement which is wound together by linking words like 'therefore' or 'subsequently'. Another common one is assess (used in 6-7 mark Q's) where you must make a judgement at the end or you lose a mark. Markers actually deduct marks if you fail to answer in this specified structure. Most other subjects require this as well (so learning key verbs will help with other subjects as well) but biology is rather esoteric when it comes to key verbs. Overall make sure you learn and understand most (some are rarely used) of the verbs.
