b) 1. Boolean Searching - IPT + Hardware etc
2. Wildcard Searching - "*" "<>" "?" eg. IPT <> Insurance Protection Tax
3. Logical/Relational Operators: <, >, =<, => and THEN AND NOT

search engine more advanced then other methods of
searching.

- profits increase business expands

Disadvantages:
- employer cant supervise employee
- if no work being done profits down etc.
- has to buy equipment for employees to put in homes - to be able to work
- loss of social stigma for employees as lose contact with other people - this
can lead to people leaving the job causing problems for employer

c) (This question was weird – no where in syllabus does it say “project management strategies, I think they will have many people writing the communication skills. I think everyone who listed them should get marks because they somehow do act as strategies between the people to “work together effectively”).
- Active listening
- Conflict resolution
- Negotiation Strategies
- Interview Techniques

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 24
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a)
Strengths

- Data available anywhere – needed especially in emergencies – near deathsituations – what tablets to give to who in emergency etc.
- Accounts may be updated meaning manual methods are wiped out and
patients may be told on request how much owing.
- Members may save time - allowing them to attend to patients who are in
desperate need.

Weaknesses - Expensive – depending on medical staff
- Maintenance needed
- Invasion of privacy – members of hospital may access private
details
- Invasion of security – private information not secure as member
- Members need to be trained on how to use

b) Some technical issues: -

- People from outside the organisation can access wireless network – hack in (if in range)
- Signal can fade if hospital workers too far from access point.
- Can interfere with other medical equipment
- No back up so if system fails the whole hospital system will be in turmoil

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 26 – Decision Support Systems
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a) i) Visual interpretation of data. Trends may be seen clearer therefore allowing
person to make more well defined decision. Graphs and charts include bar
charts(information year by year can be stacked on vertical boxes), line graphs
(show continuous data), column graphs etc.
ii) An Intelligent agent is a piece of software in which automatically takes out a
intelligent response to a task. These agents are programmed by humans and are
found in many different applications. An example of a intelligent agent is a
SPAM filter found in Email Software. This SPAM filter forwards unsolicited

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a) i) Morphing is a type of animation in which allows one picture to be blended into another. An example of its use is the inclusion of images in multimedia system where human attributes are blended with animals to give affect. This is found with the morphing of a man’s body with a horse’s legs.

ii) The Sampling Rate may be described as how many types an audio file is sampled per unit of time. The higher the sampling rate the more better quality the file is. CD quality music’s sample rate is much larger than the sample rate of audio found on the Radio.

b) i) Video, Audio, Images Text – rest pretty straight forward
ii) - Presentation Software
- Authoring Software
- Web-site publishers
- HTML Coding Software

mobiles
- Video camcorders – mini tapes, CD’s it can tape on. This media can be
htransferred onto computer
- Output devices – projectors, LCD monitors etc
- The Internet – media storm. Allowed people to view media, send, create

Issues and Implications
- Merging of technologies : mobile phones with cameras – used for illegally taking photos of credit card numbers/ nude beaches
- Appropriate use of Internet : pornography – images and videos unethical: minors have access to it
- Data integrity – with so many versions of information, data matching has been used to ensure data is correct. Etc

Meh.. Not on my notes and never heard of it still.. lol

What I wrote down was based on the "students learn to" of the implementing bit in the syllabus..

Deciding testing methods

Stress Testing: it will be important to use stress testing techniques, that is, use loads that will stretch the capcity of the system to it limits so that any problems can be detected before they become criticial.

Participant Testing: having those familiar with the processes test the capacity of the system will be very important as they are more likely to detect any shortcomings in the system.

Bench testing: this will involve checking each component of the new information system against the design specifications to determine that it meets each goal.

yeah u should of put Logical/Relational Operators or you could of put in the Search engine "Advanced Search".

I was wondering whats everyones view point on 23 c). Some people put the communication skills down and some didnt. Can Lwaxawa or any other teacher clarify if we the people who did put the communication skills down will get any marks. Im sure it has something to do with it.

That question totally threw me off, I didnt talk about communication skills cause i didnt see how they could possbily relate to project management stragegies- which were not in the syllabus. If they require the mention of communication skills in the marking criteria then the question made even less sense.
