Hi,

Just wondering if there is any benefit in doing a law degree with B act studies?

What would the workload be like? what jobs would utilise the skills gained from this combination?

At this point in time i feel i would find the B Act studies more interesting but i haven't had any experience with law...

Thinking of doing it at UNSW

No point at all doing law just because you got the ATAR for it. If you like Acturial do that

well you're gonna be studying for 5years, and the workload will be enormous. but at the end of the day it may be worth it

Firstly, don't do it just because you have the ATAR.

Secondly, workload will be very intense. I know two people doing it and one is pretty much at genius level and he has difficulty coping with it sometimes.

Thirdly, career wise I can't say for sure. Knowledge in law is almost always beneficial and it gives you a good framework in terms of analysis. But with actuarial the only thing I can think of top of my head is maybe do something regarding regulations. Otherwise, the combination isn't that useful to me.
