hey guys! theres this assignment due and like i was getting a little confused with what it was actually asking i emailed eugene with a lengthy email but he gave me back a reply of;
"n=10" "n=40"
which is the shortest email in my life and means nothing to me
the question is
An educational psychologist interested in the effectiveness of 4 different learning strategies devises an experiment where 10 students are randomly chosen from classes using each of the 4 strategies (A, B, C and D). A standardised test is performed to assess performance over 3 content areas, each of which is assessed out of a possible 100. Total scores for each student using are calculated and are presented below:
Student Strategy
A B C D
1 251.2 263.2 269.7 251.6
2 245.1 262.9 263.2 248.6
3 248.0 265.0 277.5 249.4
4 251.1 254.5 267.4 242.0
5 260.5 264.3 270.5 246.5
6 250.0 257.0 265.5 251.3
7 253.9 262.8 270.7 261.8
8 244.6 264.4 272.9 249.0
9 254.6 260.6 275.6 247.1
10 248.8 255.9 266.5 245.9
Perform a one-way between groups ANOVA on the data using SPSS. In answering the questions below, you should cut and paste the SPSS output where appropriate.
The question says "where 10 students are randomly chosen from classes using each of the 4 strategies (A, B, C and D)".
However with how the data is set out (in the table) and the question asked "Perform a one-way between groups ANOVA", i was unsure as to whether it was;
10 students who each do strategies a,b,c,d.
Or
40 students who were chosen from classes using the strategies a,b,c,d. i.e. 10 students do strategy a, 10 students category b, etc.
Does anyone get what im asking? or can someone explain to me what it's asking cause its yea a little confusing
