Are we allowed to use dictionaries for Extension French? (1 Viewer)

I can't find out whether we're allowed to use dictionaries for extension or not! someone please tell me! I know we can use them for continuers at least...

feeling so glad i found this site...

Yes we can use them for Extension. Section 11.6 of the French Extension syllabus says that there usage is fine.

Students may use monlingual and/or bilingual print dictionaries in the written examination. http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/pdf_doc/french_ext_syl.pdf
Note that we can't in the Oral monologue.

BUT

Also be aware that it a very big 'perte de temps' when we only have 2 hours for the exam... so don't rely on them - learn the words and vocab!

For future reference, the syllabi are very good sources of information and are much worth your while in having a quick squizz, as in addition to answering vital questions you already have, it tells you pretty much exactly what is expected of you in the course.
