Hi there,
Can anyone please help explain this to me.
I have to choose my subjects for Yr 11 and I know all the advice is to pick the subjects that you do well in and like but my question is this....
When I just have a mess with the SAM calculator why is it if I put in my subject selection and just for the hell of it put in my marks of say 75 each - art contributes such a small amount to the UAI like around 30.
Is this because 75 would be considered a low mark for VA - like everyone else is getting above this???
I have to do art - but also want to - to study Graphic Design, but why does it show less contribution to UAI with exactluy the same mark as say Business Studies. The UAI uses your scaled mark doesn't it.
My subjects at the moment are...
English Standard - I do great in Essay's but so suck at Comprehension ahhh!
Visual Arts
Business Studies
Information Process & Techn.
Studies of Religion (1 unit)
Maths
Photography (only for yr 11 and then drop yr 12 cause no UAI)
So 13 units yr 11 and 11 yr 12.
Also - another point - Am I being an idiot for taking up maths. Reason being is I fail maths big time and hate it!!!! But that's because I go to such a sucky school with sucky teachers and next year I'm changing schools. Hoping that there will be decent teachers there - (I got into a school that was on the top 100 list last year) No Joke - our maths class is so bad, kids throwing chairs around the room, that I sit outside in the library (teachers permission) and just go in and ask questions when i need to. But have I fallen behind so much that maybe there is no way I can catch up in yr 11 with basic stuff???:burn:
I don't need the high UAI's that most guys on here are after - I only need a 60 for GD but am still panicking that my education so far has been so lacking that I'm not going to be able to catch up with the rest of the pack.
Any feed pack to this pathetic writer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
PS - Reason for thinking of trying maths - is JUST in case I change my mind and don't want to do GD and to leave my options open
