im also curious as to whether it is possible to attain a higher atar than people ranking higher than me in all subjects assuming i do better than them in the trials? or is my mark going to be passed onto another guys rank and i won't benefit from it because i take the lower ranks marks instead?

Ah Sydney Tech haha . Umm, if I had to guess- around 88-90? Probs wait for someone who's better at this than me though and see what they say.

And yes you can attain a higher ATAR then others above you- you keep your own exam mark which is worth 50% so yeah, if you rape the externals you can boost your ATAR big time.
