ooooh :) who and for what? and are they starters.

only one is a regular starter, and he is a good solid centre back
although his cover could be a really promising youngster, so yeah

yeah chevanton is in monaco

apparently he was left out of the team , as well simply the coach dosent favour him ,
i read something on it on soccernext a few weeks back

but i think chevanton should be in the team as hes a quality player

i think chevanton had a falling out with manager fossati, and vowed he would never play for uruguay with fossati at the helm again

as did diego forlan

as did alvaro recoba

as also threatened by paulo montero

however chevanton has kept to his word, unlike the other three

Who do you guys think the goalkeeper will end up being? I think he'll keep his faith with Kalac, but now Filan is also aiming for a place with four clean sheets in five games.

I'm not sure who Guus will go with as 'keeper...but our depth in that position is definitely a good thing. :)

We have great depth, but Im not so sure about our depth after the WC. Any bright prospects after Kalac and Scwarzer?

Goalkeeper is a tough choice ... Kalac isn't playing regularly for Milan and isn't Filan a tad old? Bolton is a good prospect and Petkovic (sp?) is playing regular top class football in Turkey.

Well according to the todays' Telegraph, Guus will pick Kalac over Schwarzer cos hes spose to be better under the high ball...

filan is 35.... im not really confident with schwartzer, always feel hes just about to make another blunder, but as you say kalac isnt playing regularly (dunno why he moved to milan... yes great club but noway in hell hes gonna displace dida)

Yeah all the keepers are getting on in years, they're all 30 or over and surely don't have more than one more world cup campaign in them.

there is also a lack of quality keepers for state leagues. i would say technical development is needed for keepers especially, but people have claimed a technical crisis across the board.

and keepers at 30 are relatively young anyway. As long as kalac stays injury free, he'll be there for 2010

Kalac will be 37 going on 38 in the 2010 world cup, he may retire internationally at that age.
