Any mechanical (or aerospace) engineering degree is fine is you're looking to get into auto. The RMIT course is just a mech degree with some auto units in years 3 & 4.
If you're a permanent resident you can get into CSP places, but you'll have to pay the 4-8k upfront without discount.

so lets say if i go for the Bachelor of Engineering course in Monash University, I will be able to get into the automotive industry by specialising in Mechanical engineering?
aerospace will be able to get me in to the automotive & aeronautical industry?
which would you advise though? Should I go for the RMIT one or the Monash ones?

Yes, especially if you take your work experience in the auto field.
As with the RMIT Auto course, Monash aerospace grads are also accredited mechanical engineers. They do more aerodynamics, which is relevant to auto, but there are some aircraft-specific subjects. Due to the lack of aerospce jobs in Aus most of them end up working as mechanical engineers anyway.
Both unis are highly respected by engineering employers. Monash is more prestigious, but it's out of the way and has higher entry requirements. I'd say go for the RMIT one, hopefully you'd get an idea of what the auto industrty is like.
