They also have a size (kb) restriction besides the 100 by 100 pix restriction.

If you need to resize it, you can fix it up in paint. If all else fails, host it and use the url.

You probably have Microsoft Photo Editor that comes with Office. You can use Paint as mentioned before or Photo Editor to resize, and use Photo Editor or some other program to save it to JPG with a bit of compression.

I use Photofiltre which works exactly like Photoshop and you can select the quality of your saved pic just like Photoshop.
Your best bet is to upload a pic onto your own server or an image hosting site like Image Shack and just link it.

what if the original is like 250 x 150?

infranview changes the second sdimension automatically as you enter the first one in for you, keeping the same ratio as the original.

Most people don't have Photoshop though. IrfanView is a free alternative and does the job fine:).

Irfan view is good.
And it can maintain zoom level (eg 150%) when viewing images in a folder, so it's good for reading... electronic picture version of books?? (like comics I guess)

Uncheck the preserve aspect ratio.
It can also crop image.
And it's better than MS Paint because it resamples the image.
