my friend started off in sibt and i know a few others too, it seems reasonably common. i wouldnt say its easier or harder, i have never seen the coursework but from what ive heard its roughly equivalent. in sibt the class sizes are smaller so you get more attention and stuff which helps as well. was there anything in particular did you guys want to know?

my friend did it last year. From what ive heard its pretty similar to the actual course but apparently the lecturs arent as qualifyed as the proper macq lecturs.
Its basically a private college within the uni , i think there should be something like it in uts

Okay..
1.How is the different btween the normal year 1 and the SIBT standard diploma?
2.I've heard the fellow students are consisted of 75% overseas and 25% local , do any of you think us local students taking any advantage?
3. Any one applied for any other universities(say USYD) instead of going MQ after graduate? How hard is that going to be?

well u'd have an english advantage over the international students...
i met someone yesterday who juz came to australia and was gonna so sibt in 2005...she couldnt understand most of the things i was sayn in english coz she reckons i was talkn too fast...but i dun fink the lecturers will speak any slower.... so i think locals would have a real advantage in that department.

Kool...I wish so..
But you know how things ain't going logically all the time..
I know quite a lot of Chinese international students are weird, like they can be conversationally retarded in English, on the other hand most of them are having excellent acadamic performance though.

sibt copying the exact same course path as macca, but with really limited amount of electives(think most comp subjects)
I think sibt only has a working relation with mq?
not a 100% sure tho.
