Hey everyone.

I'm pretty sure this has been asked many times before, but I'm still confused and quite lost.

Ok, so my first option currently for uni is med, however, I'm aware of the low chances of getting in as I don't expect a high ATAR (99+) and although I think I may be able to do well in UCAT, I still gotta keep my options open in case I don't get in.

But ngl, I'm very indecisive abt what backup degrees I can take cos I've been passionate abt med my whole life, and have never rly thought past that.

I'd appreciate some advice on what degree options I can take that may potentially allow for a backup career or make entry into med easier (as a non-standard applicant or postgraduate applicant) since I'm still interested in doing med even if it's not straight out of high school. I've done some research, although I haven't rly found anything that really appeals to me.

If it helps, I rly enjoy maths (doing 4U this year), however I am not rly inclined to do a math related degree (eg advanced math). Chem is okay although my performance in the subject hasn't been the best, and Bio is pretty interesting most of the time.

Thanks!

Physiotherapy? Some role in the corporate world?

I think what everyone recommends for people who don’t get into undergrad med, pick your degree based on if you didn’t get into med

A few people have mentioned this degree lately, but I have yet to look into it. Tbh, it depends on whether the degree is solely math based or not, if it only has certain units (is that what they're called?) of math, then I wouldn't mind that. But thank you!

That's the thing, I'm having trouble deciding that rn, cos I have never rly thought abt it and never considered anything else 😅. But thanks for the advice!
