Dunno if this has been done (too lazy to check) but what's everyone's fave place to do lunch and dinner?

I'd have to say Bacchus near greater union in the city is a gem, beautiful setting, delicious food, and super cocktails. if you have the money, go there! and Bistro Tartine in Hamilton is great too.

Fire away...

Never heard of it, everyone also seems to have this fixation with the kebab shop on Hunter St near the brothel Number 5., it seems to be a thing to go there after getting smashed at Fannys

I've been to virtually every restaurant on beaumont and Darby streets.

'The Banyan Tree' on Beaumont is probablly the best.

I haven't been there for a while but Kitami on Darby is nice (if it's still there ).
There was also a really nice one on the very end of Hunter St, though that was also a while ago and I don't remember the name.

Now closed there. They have moved up Darby Street between Pizza Hut and Darby Raj. Not the same though, since Ray went home. :karate:

I'd have to go with Baccus for fine dining. Rave reviews from Sydney food critics are well deserved. You wont get much change from $100/person though.

Also, for Thai it's Benjama's on Darby, or Sticky Rice. For Pizza it's APK. Newcastle neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds a sushi train. Naow!

Skip any of the steaks on offer at Goldbergs. I don't rate them at all.

what's the restaurant just around the corner from ANZ in the city? like, down the side street heading towards the rail line?

i've always wanted to go there but imagine it'd cost a small fortune.

also would like to try that little convict cottage place behind customs house.

I love Beaumont street. Bunch of decent pub/cafe's there. It's so much better than darby, which is full of lesbians.

Man you guys know so many restaurants
I don't rate Longbench at all though. I've never enjoyed anything there lol.

Three Monkeys do yummy hot chocolates but I'm easily pleased and they probably all create similar heaven.

Paymasters? I didn't know that still existed (if that's what you mean).

That's Paymasters.

Haha. The head waiter always reminds me of Ainsley Harriott.

My mum had a christmas party there a few years ago and said it was great.

That's about all I've heard of the food there.
