Nekkid, how do you think a 5200 will handle that game, eh? ;)

Hey Korn, don't panic yet. Wait until the game comes out before you go selling your graphics card. It might run it just fine, who knows?
bwahahhahaha. i wouldnt even want to wish that kind of gaming experience on the devil.

are those images on the main site of AOE3 screenshots? if they are, holy jebus.

@SashatheMan - well 100+ would be awesome, but the average would be around 60-70 or so.

so do u know what the frame rate of the two video cards u guys suggested would be on an average 3d game?

what cards are you referring to? the ones in the ebay links you provided?

theres the radeon 9600 (note, this isnt the 9600XT or the 9600PRO - just in case you were looking for reviews on the net) and the geforce 5900xt. you should be able to find reviews of both of them on the net, and they usually come with fps ratings on various games as a benchmarking tool.

lucky you, ive found two review sites for the cards. note that the fps may differ because of the specs of the tests computer in each case.

9600 - http://firingsquad.com/hardware/ati_all_in_wonder_9600/page7.asp

5900XT - http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/112/9/

radeon 9600

u can get em under that price if u shop around and they're good. ofcourse 9800 is better and 9250 if u dont want those 2.

i found that on ebay

radeon 9250 - are the cheapest for around $59 -75
radeon 9600 - these are favourible so far at $90 - 120
radeon 9800 - were out of my desired price range at around $230

Geforce FX 5900 - sounds good , but only 2 items on ebay so cant judge the price

Unless your motherboard was bought in the last 6 months, your motherboard probably won't have a PCIe slot meaning you won't be able to use this card. I would just stick with the 9600 or the FX5900 if I was you.

I think that would be greatly dependant on where you buy it from. I've been to places that charge double the prices you find on the internet for the same stock. I don't believe you will find a much better deal than the one you posted. Were you concerned about the warrantee or something, because both store bought and internet bought stock have the same manufacturer's warrantee in most cases.

in the end i had a change of plan and went with

radeon 9250 256 mbs graphicvs card.

i know its probably abit worse then the 9600, but at least its 256mbs instead of 128 and i got it cheap and not from ebay. got it for only $75
