rosemary's baby is a huge influence on my writing. i find polanski's obsession with the mysteries of apartment buildings and their tenants something i can relate to. repulsion and the tenant are other great examples of this (they all form a loose trilogy of sorts).

repulsion is very good. has some truly chilling scenes.

for a weird polanski movie check out cul-de-sac. it's like polanski trying to do beckett

another worthwhile 60s effort is a british horror film called Peeping Tom
