Because the 80s came before the 90s

If I could only pick one, I'd say Amadeus.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade
Back To The Future

Movies were one of the best things about the 80's... I just feel lucky I got to spend 7 years in that decade.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off... the only film i can think of now. That entire film is perfect- I love Cameron's phone calls at the beginning...

my favourite would probably be brazil

honourable nods to raging bull, the empire strikes back and the blues brothers (all from 1980).

Probably Blade Runner.

But because I'm hopeless and can't pick just one these come close: The Blues Brothers, Scarface, Muppets Take Manhattan, The Princess Bride, Raider of the Lost Ark, The Shining, This Is Spinal Tap, Return of the Jedi and maybe Tootsie.

unfairly maligned decade. do the right thing, once upon a time in america, ferris bueller's day off, blue velvet, after hours, raging bull, l'argent, my neighbour totoro, the vanishing, the thing, stranger than paradise, down by law, blood simple, better of dead..., withnail & i, evil dead 2 are just a handful off the top of my head.

i'm digging these threads. we should get some more going once they lose friction.

i know. terrible isn't it? i love it but i think empire was the low point of the first trilogy (if there could be a low point to star wars :D ) so to pick one, jedi would have to be my fav.

since all the other indiana jones films have been mentioned, temple of doom was another great movies of the 80s. everyone rates it as the worst of the trilogy but it took the jones franchise in a different direction and without it crusade would seem more of a copy of raiders. just gotta love the heart ripping :)
