Im worried about the trial exam. Im pretty good at maths, almost first rank just a little scarred with tricky stuff they can give us. Whats the best way to tackle it?

> Be confident and positive in your abilities.

> Take each question step by step (think about the question you're on ONLY, not other questions).

> Think as clearly and as logically as possible. This can be more easily achieved by writing down all your working-out and checking calculations with your calculator.

> As for the tricky question, never forget of the basic formulae and processes (and the interactions and combinations of these). Even the most complex questions usually relate back to simplier formulae/processes.

> Do lots and lots of practice questions. Past papers from other schools are probably best at this stage.

> If you're OK with the easier questions and worried about harder questions, focus on doing plenty of harder questions.
