I think it is effecting a lot of people....

Major Australian Internet backbone problems
Customers from numerous Australian ISPs are reporting network outages across the country.

BigPond customers reported no international connectivity just before 9PM, while Optus users reported outages and slowness at the same time. BigPond's support lines are overloaded, and a message says that calls "could not be completed at this time".

Westnet said it had lost ADSL2+ backhaul to "WA, SA and QLD", Internode lost its Tasmanian POP and Exetel customers are complaining about severe slowdowns.

It is likely that Telstra has had a major network failure, which has impacted ISPs across the country.

Please be patient as Whirlpool copes with record visitors during this time!

yeah, mine works for like 10 minutes and then it get's stuffed up again and I have to keep restarting it.

You don't really get anything for all the extra you pay to be with Telstra. Since most smaller ISP's just resell Telstra anyway reliability is about the same.

I get uncapped usage off peak all the time, 24gb peak and my uploads don't count. I can download all the movies I want.

from midnight to midday its about 40gb, and if you go over that you get put in a heavy users pool for that period during the next month... but you can still download all you want off-peak

from midday to midnight its 24gb and $3/gb if you go over

and uploads don't count

30GB for $60 no excess charge. Between 12am to 9am you will get uncapped if you've gone over the limit. They don't count uploads.

Exetel... although the trade off is their support is almost non-existent and as far as I know it is impossible to get a real person on the phone.

You can get a much better deal than mine if you can get adsl2, will settle for 1.5mb or don't need quite so much quota.

I'm with tpg, the static IP addressing is a bonus for me because I have an ftp server.

It's the most cheapest if you stick to your plan once you sign up & you don't move houses, change of plan costs $60 for any plans.

I have a static IP too but I don't use it. I'm really pissed off that I can't get ADSL2 because 8mb is slower and more expensive.
