can anybody explain the Tk+1/Tk to me? i can use it to solve questions in magaret groves book but i've got no idea what it means... i m essentiall using a formula without understanding it...

your trying to find the greatest coefficient in an expansion........the greatest expansion occurs when the ratio tk+1/Tk is greater than 1
so when you use that formula you are finding where in the expansion the coefficient term is largest
