eh

if you guys have time, i reckon you should donate some of your blood to the red cross, as i believe hospitals around sydney are in real shortage of blood supply

so if you are free for an hr or two, just hop down to the atrium
you will get a free bottle of water as a reward! (and a packet of biscuits, a lolley bag)

Hospitals are always in short supply of blood (not to mention scientists).

Skittled did the right thing and donated yesterday. I cant though. Just watching him lying there made me feel awful and wanted to vomit. I cant do needles, especially when they take blood.... its a good cause, but ugh...I'd rather eat a potentially poisonous pufferfish

The only way anyone is getting my blood is if they wait until I get a really bad cut then let it bleed out into a jar because I do not like needles at all.

Ack, I can give blood, but according to the lady who took it from me at school, they use it to develop anti-venom or something (I've lived overseas numerous times, numerous places, I've got a blood disease, I'm gay, etc etc).

Lucky Skittles had MJ sitting there holding his hand huh?
Actually, I got a message half way through my law tute telling me he was giving blood and to meet him in the atrium when I'd finished class. I would not go near him and those nurses while they were holding a needle... I'd pass out at the sight of it! He had to comfort me afterwards- it was a traumatic experience! From now on he's driving to uni so he cant sacrifice his blood!

When i got a blood test at my docotors i fainted. lol. Thing is, it never happened to me before, it was just the sight of my blood gushing in some bottle, from some exit out of the needle in my arm (and after one was full, she got another one and filled that too!).

Actually it was quite strange. because when she was taking my blood out, i was saying how i did first aid, and so we started talking about how you have to put people in the lateral position if they fainted, and i was talking about the steps etc.... then a few minutes later all things went black and it felt like hours and hours.. i wake up and What do you know!! im in the lateral position... and what was funny (though not at the time, for me) was that the doctor seemed to be more panicing than my dad, who she ran and got from the waiting room.

Anywayz. i would give blood, but i dont trust myself from not fainting.. :/
Oh don't worry, im sure jimmy could hold your hand while you faint

That would probably make things worse for "James".

I gave blood today, there was a girl who fainted just after I did it, I'm glad I didn't see that before. Poor thing, they had her lying on the ground and when she came to she sounded hysterical, she had no idea where she was.
Apart from that it was all good, huzzah for giving blood.

I've donated blood about 10 or 11 times so far.

I take this opportunity to remind you all yet again, if you say you can't give blood for some pathetic reason (you don't want to faint, you're scared of needles, etc), I'm sure you'd be more than willing to take the blood someone else had donated, should you need it.

I asked this a few months ago but I want to see if anyone actually took the liberty to research what their blood type was.

So what is your blood type?
