bromine water vs bromine liquid? (1 Viewer)

^^^^ What would the overall reaction equation be when we react these two with cyclohexane and cyclohexene? Its just that I came across various textbooks with confusing and/or contrasting information. Hence wanted to confirm.... Thanks!!!

Cyclohexene becomes 1,2-dibromocyclohexane. If it's bromine water (and not just liquid bromine), the water can compete in the second step, so you might get a mixture with hydroxylation in the second step.

Cyclohexane slowly becomes bromocyclohexane. It's light-activated by breaking the Br-Br bond to generate two bromine atoms. For additional info, hydrogen atom abstraction occurs, to generate a cyclohexyl radical and HBr. The other bromine atom reacts with the cyclohexyl radical to generate bromocyclohexane.
