I spoke about some of those issues too :) Was a bit. . . offputting. Stared at that question for the whole of reading time.

Mine was really bad and cliched...I hated that question. I wrote about how strong bridges need a strong foundation, and lots of support...just not as many cliches in the one paragraph, lol. Took me about 10 minutes to decide what to write, but managed to keep writing once I started.

Some people I know talked about world peace, how peace is unachievable, feminism, anti-depressants and all sorts of stuff.....lots of varied answers.

The question allowed for extremely varied responses. It really depended on how you interpreted the opening sentence and the stimulus.

I really didn't refer to the stimulus. I talked about how we need to build "bridges" in order to succeed in life.... I dunno, it looks stuffed now when I think of it. ><

I wrote about doing what you want in life, or something like that....sounds stupid but theoretically, you cant interpret it wrong, and u get marked according to ur idea and what you write

Mine refered to using our minds, working as a team to solve the worlds problems, then touched on global warming and water conservation.

I talked about people building their personal "bridges" to success, personal best etc. What a gay question....

For the newspaper thing, talked about a regional athletics carnival involving Morgan High, and made up some other random schools.

For the Poem thing, was teh answer to the first question Assonance? I wrote about the dad being a perfectionist and wanted everything to be in order. While the son doesn't really give a f&*# about the Subaru.

Hope I did alright.

I wrote something similar to that. That we as a globe should fight against world problems of social injustice so we can make bridges of justice freedom and equality. All this philsophy stuff. I sounded so fake and lame HA!

"Plugs and bungs". I put assonance. It's not rhyme, it's not alliteration, wasn't the right context for onomatopoeia. One of my friends put 'slang' or 'colloquialism'. *Shrugs*. There may be more than one answer, it's like the opposite of multiple choice :D

Seems like everyone went all deep and meaningful... I went on about how it'll be a sad day when people think they can build bridges out of hope and daring. Just ranted on about how you need reinforced concrete, steel, compassion and translators to build real and diplomatic bridges... not sure if the markers will like me rejecting the statement.... ah well

I'm pretty sure it was assonance cos it said 'sound technique' or something...

As for the extended response I wrote about living life to the fullest and then put ion some soccer story of mine *shrugs* they can't really mark you down unless you don't use correct punctuation etc...right?

That was a ridiculous question, how do you relate hope, daring and bridges? Mine was about taking action on poverty…"Build a bridge to a better world” *shrugs*Stupid question!

lol..stupid question indeed. I dont think the content mattered too much anyway. Its the technique that were used that are gonna get marked on, not your ability to write in an interesting manner. LOL, someone wrote how builders build bridges and hope to make alot of money.

I agree....the technique for speeches is what they look for, it helps to be good at it though!
All those years of debating, learning to make something random seem relevant I think I was pretty secure. Hey, what did we all do for the 1st writing task (the news report)? I wrote that 'ryan chang' saved a little girl from drowning. :)

I just wrote about the bridge to success and how to build it. Kind of thing you'd hear at one of those self-help seminars. Mad fun. YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING!

Mine was luther-king to the max. It was basically about human rights and equality - building bridges to promote a equal society. It's either going to get Band 6 or Band 1, nothing else.

This question pissed me off so much, you don't build a bridge with hope and daring - you build it with goddamn cement! Seriously, hope and daring..what a wank.
