A person charges $5.50 per square metre to install fencing.

He installs 16.43 square meters of fence

how much did it cost him to install the fence?


For a question like this do we assume and round to the nearest square metre
And if so do we round up ? Or do we round down?

For anything over the 16m - i.e. from 16.01 to 16.99m, you would need to pay for the full metre, despite only needing part of the metre.

Trust this is right.

So 17 x $5.50 = $93.50

Yeap, that's how it is worked out, you have to round it off to the next nearest meter, as it states '$5.50 per M'
