With this being said though, I mean, technically, in an essay it should be just as long as your other paragraphs. When you get into decent lengths (3000 word essays etc.) you'll see how true this is. So for 1000 words, you should be looking for bit less than a standard paragraph, at around 150 for the conclusion.

yes, because quality is better than quantity, and in reality if your thesis if less than 100 words, then your conclusion should be round abouts.

yep. I was reading it and took out the major unnecessary parts out. Also I got my tutor to finalise my essay for me

Unless you have teachers that only look at how many pages you write and not really read your response properly, which I've seen some teachers do.

After all these years I truly believe that an essay approximately 1000-1100 words is best. Really focus on the question and talk only of the most relevant points.

A conclusion should be roughly 4-5 sentences recapping, emphatically, what you have just spoken about in your introduction and body. It should highlight your thesis once more, and you would do well to avoid statements such as "Therefore, it can be seen in text X, Y, and Z that..." That's boring! You need something with more polish and more flair to really engage the reader from start to finish.

"The idea that ... is perhaps most aptly phrased by the protagonist of text Y: [insert quote which illustrates your thesis brilliantly]..." among other examples. The possibilities are endless. Just make sure you have an original idea that captures and sustains your reader's interest.
