I really want to do commerce at unsw but ive been stuffing up my assessments lately. School ranking is in the 630s and these are my ranks and marks.

Maths ext2 65% 3/4
Maths ext1 75% 5/14
English standard 73% 5/84
Physics 83% 3/18
Chemistry 81% 3/16

say if i stuff up my upcoming assessments and trials and my ranks drop to 4th and 5th for everything... is it still possible for me to get 93+? My school isnt good at all and in last 2 years only 3 people got a uai of 90-92.

i hate to break it to you but youd really have to get much better results than that to be landing a 93. its not that easy to get... when you say is it still possible if you drop ranks... i think you need to planning to move up ranks instead of figuring out whether you can drop.

if u use that sam tool and assume that you get 90 in every subject as your whole hsc mark you get an estimate of around 93. without you getting pretty much perfect hsc exam marks youre going to struggle to pull 90 in everything...

another thing to note is that standard english is really not going to be helping you- youd really have to be getting a band 6 to scale well and they will count your english no matter what. (there are like 2% of ppl doing it that get band 6)

why dont you explore options at other universities that offer commerce?

Pretty sure Commerce @ UNSW is 95+... or are you relying on HSCPlus.

With those ranks at your school, you will be lucky to get over 85... sry to break it to you too.

Look into other options.

Look into other options like Economics and then transfer... But even Economics is 91 (?) and HSCPlus can prob shape that to 90 or 89 for you.

Doesn't look too encouraging to be honest... but again.. depends on how hard your assessments were.. at the moment I would say 85-90 assuming your assessments tasks are like the ones I had at parramatta high a few years ago

highly unlikely, given the school's rank. op has to come 1-2 internally and kill the externals.

if you're pretty intelligent and hard working, and it's just your shitty school that's fucking you up, just do eco or something and transfer to whatever you want at the end of the year.

.... You realise you need a lower UAI to get into Medicine than Law? With Medicine you have to smash your UMAT and get a reasonable UAI (95+ is what I have been told).

If you are indeed going to Trinity, then I would say with your present ranks, you will not get over 95, so your best shot is to work ultra hard in the trials, and smash UMAT. Law should be out of the question.

As an estimate, your UAI should be around 80. That is if you go to Trinity.

Look into other university options.

Haha, try graduate medicine minus y and put i in it's place.

Yeah you could probably settle for law at UWS if you get 90+ unless your GWS in that case 85+, but i doubt it looking at ur marks esp for English Standard which is going to pull you down heaps.

1) Buy a cheap dictionary. More than likely it will have medicine and endeavour in it. You will really need to improve spelling for your medicine course. How can you get through without spelling Valium?
2) The amount of hours you are studying a night doesn't make a difference to us right now- a person with an IQ of 80 is going to need to spend a day trying to match someone with an IQ of 140's 6 hours of study.
3) Those marks combined with rankings arent that crash hot. The subject you have the best marks in is one you are ranking poorly in. Which means that while you appear to be doing well, the people in your class are smashing you and are likely to maintain this through exams. Chances are you wont pull back and beat 21 other people in an exam.

I think it's time to consider other things. Things that don't require super UAIs. You are only going to hurt yourself and you'll also be wasting preferences by applying for unrealistic options. Sure write medicine on there at the top but dont go picking it and law at all the unis with the idea that one will take you.

I'll be ecstatic with a UAI over 80.
