the same question was asked when I was in high school and the answer was yes, but the responses said that its sucks

I think you can move this year, but you do pathways. So you do your HSC over two years.

go do a tafe course.

I agree. That way you'll have a tafe qualification, which you can then work with, as well as a pathway into uni.
Perhaps another environment may be helpful as well.

yes you can and you have to follow the exact same pattern of study ie. you can't pick up a new subject that you didn't study in yr 11.
We have a guy repeating yr 12 from my year, his UAI wasn't THAT BAD but hey his decision (or his parents....)
