Hi all,

I got to an average ranking school somewhere in the 180's, I am soon to sit my trials and am concerned on whether or not I can get an ATAR of 94-96 with the current internal marks I am sitting on:

Modern History: 86
Ancient History: 91
Legal Studies: 84
Business Studies: 80
English Adv: 90
History Ext: No idea somewhere around 85-90

If I do perform average in trials will that affect me achieving the ATAR range of 94-96

rank matters more than anything, usually you can find that on ur school report.

So many histories haha, but say you get 89 for history ext (in HSC, l think history ext is out of 50, so l'll say u got 44), you'll get roughly 90.05. l think this is because these subjects are low scaling, so... l used atar compass UAC to calculate your star based on what your current marks are.

Tip - Aim for 90+ for all of these, as someone mentioned earlier. These subjects are low-scaling, and you need to do good in them, or they will pull you down bad.

why do you think you'll do average in trials? like everyone has been saying the main thing you should be concerned with rn is maximising your rank within your cohort. stay optimistic and give trials a strong effort so you can boost yourself. theres no point in worrying about what's already done imo

You're on track. Also don't listen to these imbeciles on this thread ... Marks do matter as well as Ranks, but marks TOO!!! Just smash out every subject in trials and hsc and help your cohort as well. Good luck!!!
