hey im just worried, can they actually SPECIFY a text for any question, especially for the creative one, where they can say, oh using a character from The skull beneath the skin, comment on their contribution into crime fiction (etc...thats just stupid question)...but like you know what i mean??

and can they actually dictate THREE texts?

Hey - i dont do genre - i do language and values
but they cannot specify a text to do for the creative one because everyone in teh genre elective would have to answer hte quesiton and they dont all do a specific text...

they may say use a character from your prescribed text
but they cant specify who to do or what text

Cant do it for Texts and Ways of Thinking, i dont know about other modules. Reason being that you only study 3 texts out of 4 and as such specification of a specific text would not be appropriate as not everyone may not have studied it.

They could only specify one of two. Like; "You must use Big Sleep or Skull Beneath the Skin".

But I really don't think they're going to... like ever.

No. There are four prescribed texts for most of the Electives (I'm guessing you do Crime Fiction), and because you must study only at least 3, they can never, ever ask for a specific text - because there will be people in the state that may not have studied it.

Like, if they asked me to talk about The Cid (for RT), I'd fail cause I've never looked at it, but I have studied the other three, K?

But they can say, refer to THREE prescribed texts, because you must have studied at least three. It's never happened before, but hey, this is the year of... interesting things

What he said.

Though we read all the texts because our teacher wanted us to do Anil's Ghost (crime fiction), but then she didn't like it and changed us to The Real Inspector Hound. :D
