Ok, you've installed and uni-installed about every decent codec pack there's. Also, I've personally killed codecs in my system and changed setting in Media Player to attempt to get the same issue as you -and I did, after I deleted the codecs and change settings... all I got was sound and no video. Therefore, just do us a favour and get into "Safemode with Networking" and scan your computer via these link:

Free Online Anti-Virus Scan (Best to complete in Safe Mode):

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/

It's worth a try because to me it sounds as if you've a virus within your system which disables the video while streaming. This is possible because I've had it myself or another possibility is that you're missing a plugin (but while attempting to watch a video on a site, the site should prompt you to install the plugin if neccessary).

Also, your catch files might be full of junk. Download this program, then run it; don't change the settings untill you get to know the program a little:

CCleaner (It removes unused and temporary files from your system) -Freeware.

When you install the program, follow the pictures below:

Search for any and all codecs relating to sound and video, uni-install your codec pack and install the newest version of K-lite Mega Codec pack, I know you've used this codec pack but you had an old version installed (link below).

http://filehippo.com/download/259eb6ba4e6d4fba075e8d945feb4021/download/

I use this codec pack and it's all you need, believe me -and when it prompts you to remove existing codecs, click yes or ok.

Also, download a fresh copy of Internet Explorer 7 from the link below, uni-install the copy you've at the moment on your computer then reboot. Once rebooted install the IE7 again.

http://filehippo.com/download/3f7956d673982f7f15a152b26c483e1a/download/

This is a very simply issue to fix, but I can't quite pinpoint the exact issue which is causing this on your computer, unless your files are corrupted, which I highly doubt. Anyway, just to be sure, boot to the XP disk and enter the recovery console; once you get to the C:\> (command prompt), type:

chkdsk /r

I've fixed this issue many of times. We will eventually get there...

That's because that little video you see there is flashplayer, not WMP.
