True but everyone keeps asking about which car they should get and some are just lazy. This way you can check up the specs and reviews more quickly.

Even within the one site... there isn't necessarily going to be consistency in standards/expectations.

I think for a lot of it... it comes down to personal taste. It's like reviewing a movie or music CD- some people will like it, others will hate it; but there generally are elements which make something good/not good. NRMA is a pretty good site to read btw since it seems to offer reviews which relate to how the cars will be driven by normal people in Australia rather than at top speeds/to the limits on the track.

It's still good to get a mix of both. Some like the potential for the car to be track raceable. But yes, review assist in the decision making but it does come down to personal taste.

Sure there's a regular dose of posers here and there, but it's not hard to pick the genuine ones. Usually those over 200-300 words. And it offers real life experience of the problems the model experiences - not just 'after driving the car for three days, we think it is one of the best performing hatchbacks we have ever tested'.
Not to mention how it offers the oppurtunity of finding reviews for 40 year old cars, not just ones from the past 5-10 years.

Yeah but you find people either rate the car they have or they dont.... they are very bias due to either good experiences or bad ones... but I spose you can get an idea based on how many bad ones there are to good ones!. The benefit of proper reviews by like the NRMA is that they are impartial, and say it how it is, whats good, and whats not. But even with these reviews, Ive read some sites which say something about a car is crap, and then other reviews say those same things are good about particular cars! Eg, FPV GT, one site said its brakes were crapper then the Clubsports.... and another review said they are virtually the best brakes on Australian roads (Which they are!), or one site said the Ford fuel consumption is worse marginally, the other said the Clubsports was a fair bit better!!!

But realistically at the end of the day, its how you feel driving the car.... reviews should only be used to give a very rough idea about a particular car you are looking at!
