The binomial you factorised was supposed to be x. Small issue.

lost about 10 marks! Damn.
Also, I did the final part of the last question. HOWEVER, instead of using the approximation t= 0.56, I used t= 0.57 (because that is what I get from 1 application of Newtons method). From there, I did everything else, but my valuse are: (e^(e^0.57) = 5.87) but my other r value, I put down the exact same approximation 0.097. Would that still be full marks?

I have a question ... idk how to use latex so i'll just type it out

In the equation they gave us for 14biii)
Isn't there a general term in there which is [2n-k]C[k] . x^(2n) . 2^(2n-2k) which I'll call /1/
Since we want to equate the coefficients of the term x^(2n)...
can we sub the coefficient of /1/ t into 14bii) ... so it becomes the answer
and n is on top of the sigma instead of 2n because (2n-k >/= k) hence the greatest possible k value is n for the combination to remain valid
So would this assumption suffice instead of writing out for k=1,2,3... ?

Don't flame me if I'm wrong.
I'm just asking this because that was my thought process that seemed right when i did it in the test

Going out for a bit of coffee with Trebla now, so I won't be replying/fixing mistakes for the next 30 minutes or so!

But again please let me know if you spot anything wrong =)

i lost a mark on the god damn small angle sin limits. FML
I made the mistake of forgetting to quickly check with L'Hopital's on tuesday for mc 9, lost one mark.
THen I drilled into my head that I would definitely use L'Hopital's this time.

Next thing you know, I forget to put x^2 in differentiation a few parts later.
I never made a mistake in chain rule for a year until now. WTF.
