re: CARS & RIDES & Mighty Car Mods

whats a bee-r limiter?
Best to look it up on youtube lol. They are an after market rev limiter which cut ignition rather than fuel when you hit the limiter, supposedly better for the engine. Dont think it's any good for the exhaust (cats and stuff) or turbos (if any) though.

But people mostly get them because when it cuts the ignition the fuel gets dumped out the exhaust and there are flames and stuff, I guess a little bit like a non functional (when people do it for sound/flames) version of anti lag on a turbo car.

You can run really rich with an ignition cut and that's what happened there.

However, you would want a combination of both (moreso an ignition cut). Also if ETC is used, you can have ignition, air and fuel all limited, which would be ideal.

Absolutely destroys cats, they normally blow up.. You'd find that a lot of these cars shooting flames have removed the cats.

de-cat pipe or just a simple pipe... fixed... looking at a massive fine for running that though, then again, if you are running an after market rev limiter... you would also be looking at that fine

How much did that cost lol? There's a lot of stuff there that can be custom made, but from the spec it seems a lot was bought and plug and play.

I'm surprised that they didn't go with DBW but then again it is a drift car.

can't find out a price anywhere but easily a few hundred thousand dollars for parts, fabricating and labor.

was watching Barrett Jackson auctions yesterday and gotta say that American cars do look really nice. They also sold a 2015 BMW M5 Jahre for $700,000 and a 2016 CTS-V for $170,000

Dyno's are known to be the engine undertaker.

Speaking of which, avoid touching the ignition map when using a dyno unless you know what you are doing. Changing a value by 50% or above could be catastrophic.

Fuel map is alright though. If you run too lean or too rich it won't be anything like the damage of playing with the ignition map.
