yeah i did it today......didnt think it was that bad......i couldnt think of a second reason of why a subsidy was better than a tariff tho (the only one i had was that they were non inflationary)......but the big plus was that i had been writing a few essays on monetary policy - there hadnt been any questions on it in either of the last two hsc's or catholic trials in a major way, so i thought it would probably show up in this one - wot do ya know!!! haha...pretty lucky i guess

AGB subsidy better than tariff for preventing inflation as well as preventing the downstream effect for producers in the future. Not really that bad an exam at all.

Probably one of the easier ones for a while.

Hey guyz,

In that subsidy question, how much was the subsidy per kilo of sugar?

I put $4 coz I thought that $9 was the world price

What did yall get?

I thought the exam was easy. Subsidies also allow the Industry to be internationally competitive wheras a tariff wouldn't help. I put $3 for that other question

Schools that do the Catholic trial have to do it all at the same time.

Which explains my two exams on one day:(

are you sure about this?
because at $10 the quantity was a whole number and at $13, the quanity was one kilogram less. At $9, the quanity wasn't a whole number. The question asked was how much subsidy was paid per kilogram... so...? shouldn't it be ($13 - $10) per kilogram?

fiscal policy and ummmm.....monetary policy....

and the last question was either impact of globalisation on internal/external stability in Aus or impact of globalisation on any other economy but aus (ie. your case study)

I put down $4 but I did not have a good look at the question because it was only worth 1 mark. I wanted to get through the paper:).

everybody has to do the catholic trial at the exact same time (which was on tuesday).......it is one of the conditions of schools doing them.......

if u look at the diagram i attached, the subsidy is represented by AB.....hopefully that will explain it........
