I was browsing the net, and I have enrollment in a few days, Just wondering, which bus routes run from central station and which would be the best way to get to Sydney uni?

Thanks for any help!

In general - http://community.boredofstudies.org/114/university-sydney/53911/transport.html?highlight=redfern

The walk from central isn't too bad (the heat may get to you at this time of the year, though), and it's obviously cheaper than a bus. That said, if you must take a bus from central rather than walk, then you would best to head off to the Railway Square bus terminal and to check the signs that tell you which services run past the university.

I hear that 01100010011110010010000001100110011011110110111101110100 is the best one.

Elizabethy: They might be catching a bus that terminates at central, as I do.

Ive tried both the redfern option and the walk/bus from central, and generally a train to redfern station then a walk is the easiest. Especially if you are headed to the Eco/bus buildings or the southern side of the uni. Walk was about 10 minutes

If your coming from the West, get off at Redfern and walk from there.

i come from the east and still it's a shitload easier to just walk from redfern.
that said, during summer school I've been catching the bus from central down parra road, as my lectures and tutes are as far away as possible from redfern (Old Teacher's college)

Summer... School? Isn't that only for people who want to get the degree done with as fast as possible OR for people who haven't passed previous subjects?

Walk from Central, don't be a bum. It's so quick.
How longs the walk from Central? Redfern is around 10mins. And remember, I was wearing heels.

hmmmm... now that I know that Merewether is on the other side of the Redfern entrance, do you think its faster through Central to get to Merewether?

No, it'd be quicker from Refern.

EDIT: and compared to much of the uni it is actually on the Redfern side.

If taking an East Hills train, it's quicker from Central since none of these trains pass Redfer

Not everyone will find it beneficial to get off at Redfern. I approach from the East, and since most of my classes are around Carslaw, I get off the L90/88 at Railway Square, get one of the relevant 42x buses through Broadway, onto City Rd. and get off right below the Wentworth bridge, around 50-100m away from Carslaw. Doing the Redfern for me would be absolutely silly. If you were approaching from the West and say, had alot of Engineering classes.. Redfern would be totally appropriate. So depends on where you live really.

Ditto. Although I usually do it when I have to go to work straight after uni (Uni to North Sydney, one train via Northern Line straight to there). If I didn't do that, I'd have to get a 42x bus from the Wentworth bridge stop to Town Hall Station.. seems a bit slower.

Ahem... try the vet buildings.... still, its only a 20 min walk, and its mostly downhill in the mornings. Its quite enjoyable actually, better than cramming on a bus filled to overflowing with other people.
